Welcome to the Jacob Braselton Chapter, NSDAR

The Jacob Braselton Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was organized in Braselton, Georgia, on February 4, 2017. There were 13 organizing members. Seven of those thirteen members were mother, daughter, cousins, and a sorority sister of the Organizing Regent. This was not enough to make a functioning board, so the word was spread to the community that a new chapter was being organized. This lead to some DAR members who were members at large joining, members transferring from other states, and some members reinstating to form the organizing Chapter.

The endorsement of State Regent was greatly appreciated. The organizing process went very smoothly and after only eight weeks a new Chapter was founded.

The chapter was named in recognition of a patriot of the Revolutionary War, Jacob Braselton. He was married to Hannah Green, a cousin of President George Washington. Their gravesites are marked in Jackson County at Walnut Fork Baptist Church.

The Chapter received its charter on February 4, 2018, with 90 members.
